It's not that I was busy all the time, by my standard anyway. I had dinner on Friday night at an old favourite restaurant in Stellenbosch, Gino's. Their pizza is just amazing, and besides, going there feels like wearing your favourite pair of jeans, it has that just right feeling. One thing about going there is that you're most likely going to run into an acquaintance or 2,so don't try to go incognito...
On Saturday I started slow, attending to the household things like laundry, while enjoying leftover curry for breakfast, don't judge - the curry was from Food Inn and as curries go, was even better the next day!
Later I took a my green machine for a drive to the Platteland, to listen to and support my brother, mentor, songwriter and musician, the Klassik. (He can be found and followed at at @klasmusiek)
While exploring the platteland town of Riebeek kasteel, I was accosted by the upright lamp I've been looking for, you know, one of those things that was on the list. I think everyone has a list, even if they aren't always aware of this. My lamp needs some TLC, and rewiring, but I'm ok with that.
Due to to this area having such crazy long afternoons, I managed to spend some quality time with other family members in the platteland and play with the kids, before heading to back to suburbia once again.
Sunday kick started with a morning cycle with some new friends. My bike (Scotty), was very glad about the exercise, even if I had to a close shave with a sign post that messed up my left shifter. I managed to avoid falling by grabbing the offending pole and held on to my dignity.
I finished off the activities for the weekend by visiting Kirstenbosch gardens, complete with scones and jam. After heading home I decided that I have graced the mother city with my presence long enough and retreated to suburbia for some well deserved lazing around.
I love this place so much, I can't wait to see what this week brings!
Tonight I'm going to see @sistermaryjames in Gardens, what a way to start the new week!
Have a good one!
